The Directors of the Company are also Charity Trustees for the purpose of charity law and are known as the Board of Trustees. The Directors are elected periodically. Elections are held at the Annual General Meeting. The Directors delegate the leadership of the day-to-day running of the Charity to the Chief Executive.

President – Dr Krish Kandiah

Krish became Henley YMCA’s President in 2023 succeeding the late George Constantinidi. Krish is a theologian author and founder of the Sanctuary Foundation.

Vice President – Norman Topsom MBE

Norman has been involved with YMCA Henley  for many years, first as a youth club volunteer and then as a Trustee. He also has a long association with St Mary’s church where he is a altar-server, bell-ringer and the keeper of the clock in the church tower.

He is perhaps best known locally as the face of First Great Western railway at Twyford station where he has been for many years, having been in the industry since he left school. His service to the community through the railway and beyond was recognised through the award of an MBE.

Norman interests include classical music, English history, gardening and enjoying the peace and quiet of the Chilterns countryside.

Chair – Rosemary Duckett

Rosemary is the Chair of  YMCA Henley having succeeded George Constantinidi in 2009.

Rosemary has lived in Henley for many years. In 1991 Rosemary gained the Hornsby Diploma to teach children with learning difficulties. She worked for a number of years at Ludgrove Prep school and at Summerfield School Oxford before retiring in 2008. Rosemary has been a JP since 1980 and is now a member of the Oxford family bench.

She has been active in a number of local organisations including Royal British Legion, NSPCC and the Licensing Committee. She is currently secretary and member of St  Nicholas Church PCC and a trustee of the St Judes Charitable Trust.

Rosemary interests include walking her dogs, gardening, tennis, skiing. She is also a keen sailor.

Trustee – Rob Perkins

Rob  has strong family connections to Henley, lives in the area and has come to know and love Henley and all it has to offer. He joined the Board of Trustees in 2014.

He is a Chartered Accountant by profession, having trained and qualified with one of the big four accounting firms.  After a number of years Rob moved into corporate finance, applying his financial training in a slightly different way, this time helping his clients in mergers and acquisitions.

Rob is married with three children and his interests include spending time with his family and, when time allows, watching or playing any sport available!

Trustee – Julian Brookes

Julian became a member of the Board of Trustees in 2015 having lived in Henley for over fourteen years. He brings a wealth of experience to the role having been an engineering officer in nuclear and conventional submarines in the Royal Navy.

Julian’s recent activities include introducing US & UK based wireless technology to north east Asia. In May 2015, Julian was elected onto Henley Town Council and chosen by other elected members to be Deputy Mayor 2015/16. Julian has a keen interest in helping Henley YMCA raise much needed funds.

As well as giving Henley YMCA his full support, Julian is an active member of the Henley Branch Users Group, married with two adult children and two grandchildren.

Trustee – Roger Appleyard

Roger has lived in Henley with his growing family since 1998. He became a trustee in 2014.

He works in the finance industry as a research analyst looking at various companies and industries including airports, media and telecom companies. Through his work, Roger has been involved with fundraising for the Great Ormond Street Hospital for a number of years.

Roger enjoys playing golf, travelling with his family and inevitably, watching the children’s  various sporting activities around Oxfordshire and Berkshire.

Trustee – Jane Streatfeild

Jane joined the YMCA Board of Trustees in 2016.

She worked as a solicitor in Henley from 1985 until her retirement in December 2017.Her expertise was principally in family disputes involving breakdown of marriage, civil partnership and cohabitation, covering financial aspects and child care. In addition she undertook Landlord and Tenant, Building and property litigation together with Probate and Will drafting. Up until its closure she appeared as a Defence Lawyer in the Henley Magistrates Court.

Trustee – Feisal Ahmad

Feisal joined the YMCA Board of Trustees in 2021

Feisal moved to Henley in 2017 from London. He has spent most of his career in Investment Banking since graduating from Bristol University in 1999.

Feisal’s interests include walking is dogs, cricket, squash and polo.

Trustee – Rachel Magnay

Rachel joined the YMCA Board of Trustees in 2020

Rachel is a full time mum. She is also a full time Marketing Director for a local Henley finance services company. She has lead marketing teams across various industries such as technology, retail and consultancy.

Trustee - Kay Sentence

Kay joined the YMCA Board of Trustees in 2022

Kay is a community lead at Collaborative Housing; an enabling hub for Community-led housing in the Thames Valley. Her formal training and degree are in interior Architecture, which she studied in Dusseldorf, Germany. Kay’s early career was as a propmaker and set painter. As such she has more than 25 years’ experience of working with communities and youth work through Theatre productions, local history exhibitions and public art commissions.

Kay has also been an elected parish councillor for 9 years in South Oxfordshire. She is a social tenant and an active member of the Soha scrutiny committee and elected member of tenants Forum as well as a founding Board member of Thame Community Land Trust (CLT) and has been involved with community-led housing for more than 14 years.

Trustee - Andrew Newell

Andrew joined the YMCA Board of Trustees in 2024.

Andrew was previously Chair of the Board of Trustees at One YMCA based in Watford between 2013 and 2022 and is also currently a Trustee at YMCA Downslink Group based in Brighton. He has previously served as a Trustee at Crisis UK, Group Treasurer at East Thames Group Limited and is currently a Trustee at Langley House Trust and Deputy Chair of Council at the University of Kent.

He is a committed Christian and is currently a Churchwarden at Holy Trinity Church in Northwood. Prior to retiring Andrew had over 30 years of experience in senior finance roles in the UK Personal Financial Services Industry.

Trustee - David Eggleton

David is born and bred in Henley, a local businessman, running a local waste and recycling business.

David has been a Henley Town councillor for 8 years. He set up the Gainsborough Residents Association and is the Chair of Henley in Bloom. He is also a member of Henley Lions and the Royal British Legion. David is an active member of the community and set up food banks during COVID and has also helped organise medical and food shipments to Ukraine.
