Having a need for a home of your own can happen to anyone. You may be homeless. Or maybe the time is right to start living independently. You could be going to college and need an affordable to place to live in order to continue with your studies. The job you have is low paid, so you can’t afford to rent privately in Henley. You could have tensions with your parents for a variety of reasons as you reach the age where it would help to have your own space. Or perhaps family circumstances mean that you can no longer live at home. Whatever the reason, Henley YMCA provides an opportunity to make the first step, with some support if you need it, towards the rest of your life.
Henley YMCA offers affordable, good quality housing for single young people, between the ages of 18-29, with a local connection to Henley and the wider surrounding area.
We provide 21 self-contained studios (living and sleeping area plus a kitchen and a toilet/shower room) and 10 flats (comprising a living room, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen). Each new resident starts life at Henley YMCA in a studio and can progress onto a flat – depending on the length of their stay.
Having a safe and stable place to stay is a valuable step. From here – with our support – young people can build upon opportunities to work, train and study and eventually live independently of our services.
Rents
Rents are currently £155.62 per week for studio, which includes autumn and winter time background heating. We ask for 2 weeks rent in advance, a total of £311.24 and a £160.00 returnable deposit.
Residents are responsible for paying council tax, TV licences and electricity. Housing Benefit and Council Tax reduction help may be available for eligible residents.
